Parts, Conversion, & Repairs for Barmac Crushers
REMco was once the owner of Barmac America, as such, we have the experience and the expertise to help our clients with all Barmac models. We provide your Barmac machines with the custom parts to convert them to better suit your needs, or repairs to get your machinery up and running again.
Tungsten Tips
Invented and patented by REMco in 1990, the Barmac tungsten tip has a unique, high ridge, supporting flange, and threaded tab.
Tungsten Tips
The Barmac tungsten tip with its unique high ridge, supporting flange and threaded tab was invented and patented by REMco in 1990. Subsequently, the patents were sold to Svedala in 1993. Now the original US patent, # 4,940,188, has expired and REMco can supply all versions of this part.
REMco offers a wide variety of tips for Barmac VSI machines. We offer many different grades of tungsten inserts to ensure correct application and the longest wear life for the tips without breakage. Different from OEM tips, all of REMco´s are cast steel (not cast iron) to provide the best possible support to the tungsten insert and thus contribute to longer wear life.
Below are the different grades of tungsten tips identified by color
- Green Tips
This grade has broad popularity and it is designed for long life with resistance to breakage for feed sizes below 1 1/2" (40 mm) and for slow to medium rotor speeds. - White Tip
This is a unique tungsten grade supplied only by REMco. It provides impact resistance with feed sizes to 3” (75 mm) and all rotor speeds. - Black Tips
This grade has the highest resistance to chipping and cracking of the tungsten insert. It is recommended for very coarse and boney feeds.Barmac uses a special 20 mm bolt and copper washer arrangement only available from New Zealand. The REMco style uses no copper washer and a standard commercial Allen Head type 5/8" bolt. The REMco style will install easily in the Barmac rotor.
Additional grades for special applications to resolve extreme wear or breakage problems that may occur are available.
Wear Casting
All tungsten tips, wear castings, etc. are 100% manufactured in the United States. We use no Chinese manufactured components.
Rotors
REMco has a variety of rotor designs to solve Barmac performance problems, including 33" 3-Port and 30" 4-Port solutions.

REMco manufactures will-fit 33" (840mm) 3-port rotors in both DTR and STANDARD sizes for Barmac crushers.
REMco also has available various other rotor designs to solve Barmac performance problems.
Conversions
Barac conversions can be supplied to meet any crushing application regardless of the material you are crushing.

All Barmacs are fundamentally shaping machines and are therefore inefficient crushers. Most Barmac owners reach a level of frustration and disappointment with their machines when the crushers do not achieve their performance expectations. When this happens, as it has occurred in many cases, REMco can convert any Barmac VSI into a real crusher. These conversions can be supplied to meet any crushing application regardless of material.
The Barmac Cascade dual feed flow system which is nothing more than a rotor bypass to artificially increase feed rate can be eliminated. This enhances crushing, reduces recycle loads, and eliminates the severe dust emissions typical of Barmac Duopactors. An additional feature of REMco Conversions is that they are available with a hydraulic system for lifting the feed hopper. All Conversions are for top servicing of the machine. The Barmac side door is eliminated.

Repairs
Many old Barmacs have been scrapped due to their low-performance characteristics and their disposable design. In many cases, these machines can be resurrected and placed back in service for a lower cost than the purchase of a new VSI unit.
